Spur Running to Extension

I've literally 'hit the wall' on how to solve this one.

We've recently bought a house, which has a flat roof extension to the back, that has just been used for storage, but we would like to turn into a utility room. Although plumbing it may be too expensive at the moment, we want to at least get some more power in there for tumble drier, freezer etc.

It currently has one double socket running to it, which is a spur run from an upstairs bedroom. The routing is a bit of a nightmare, with the cable coming from the socket, across the eves, down through the kitchen ceiling, then through the door frame of the connecting door from the kitchen to the extension, then over the joists and down the brick wall, using cable grips.

My guess is that they've routed it like that because the brick wall bewteen the house and extension would be too difficult to deal with. I went into the eves and found that the lighting for the extension is run through some metal trunking that pops out up by the (exposed) joists of the extension. It seems to be cemented in somehow, with no room to take any more cable through.

I admit I did find myself thinking "hmm. maybe it'll be ok to run another double socket off that one"... but only for a second- I think a double spur socket running off another double spur socket may possibly be a Bad Thing.

Any suggestions? Hope this makes sense...

Nothing that a meaty SDS+ impact drill won't deal with?

You are quite right

Ideally it should be on its own circuit. Less ideally you could extend the kitchen socket circuit. A spur just won't do for a bunch of appliances like that.

You need to find a route for cables....
