I had an extension built approx 1 year ago. My new bedroom conforms to the building regs (I have a certificate). The bedroom floor is 18mm tongue and groove chipboard I think.

The trouble is that is squeeks and creaks really bad when walked on!!!!

Any way to fix this?? Say perhaps large sheets of 5mm ply over the top, nailed every few inches??

Any advice appreciated.

Cheers,

Matt.

Pull it up - it's rubbish.

You should have told them that at the time.

pull all the nails out and replace with BIG screws.......done that here @ home.......plus a load of other remedial stuff :p

The biggest problem is when the T&G is not glued

Its my only quibble on the job - if i rip it up, whats the best to replace it with?

How much would it cost me - gotta new born baby, so wont have time to do it myself!! approx 20 square meters!

WBP ply is stronger and more rigid, and doesn't fall apart like weetabix when it gets wet.
