Is there such a thing as a standard diameter of uk tap inlets? I want to buy some taps and shower fittings abroad and the tap diameter for the water inlet is half an inch. Are Uk taps now metric and if so what is the size? Is this a problem? Can I buy some sort of adaptor?
Any other downside or compatability problems with buying taps and shower fittings outside the UK?
Many thanks for any info you can give.

Ours are also half inch.

Some toilet float valves from abroad have smaller size but should come with an adapter. A while ago a load of these were being dumped on ePay.

Most of the world seems to have standardised on British Standard Pipe thread. Bless. Mostly 1/2 but some are 3/4

Most foreigners will need high pressure water supplies - assume so if it doesn't say. Some US ones may be OK on gravity.

Some taps are not suitable for gravity feed (low pressure). Some taps are not suitable for high pressure. Some taps are suitable for either. The retailer should be able to tell you.
