Steep sloping ground

Hiya oh helpful people...

Whilst driving through a new motorway cutting I saw a honeycombed mesh thingy which I presume is for filling with soil for grass seed etc...

Anybody know what is is called, how much it costs and where to get it from as my summer project is to dig into a hillside (for an extension) build a retaining wall and feather out the sides to the pathway with said mesh...

If it's the stuff I'm thinking of, it's generally marketed as a gravel/grass reinforcer, usually for drive ways.
