Steps from lawn to sunken seating area

If you're going to be casting steps out of concrete then you could surely make provision for embedded lights anyway?

Am thinking it would be better to only have steps from the decking, and not mess with the lawn. Not sure how I'd add a light to a concrete step.

I can't see why you'd bother with steps all the way to deck level. You already have 2 sets of steps from deck to grass. The distance from bottom of "pit" to grass looks to be only 1 or 2 steps.
I would have the seat back against the deck and probably continue it up a bit further, stops stuff falling off the deck onto the seating.

Just drag the trampoline in the hole, and voila, semi sunken trampoline!
