Stop cock broken on lead pipe

they do in some cases help with stop-cocks, doubtless because they don't want more leaks than necessary, but once over the roadside boundary into your property, they are under no obligation and are entitled to charge.

have a look at the website of your local water company and see what they say.

BTW you might think about having that old lead pipe replaced with a new (larger) plastic one. It will give you better flow especially for showers and a combi boiler. There may be a subsidy available. Ask the water co to test your tapwater for lead content to see if you qualify.

If anyone asked me to do this one, I'd consider putting another stopcock on the copper side.....
Other than that, Usain Bolt wouldn't have a look in :p
John :)

Seems to be enough room to cut the lead fit a lead lock with 15mm copper coming off, fit a new stop cock and connect back onto 15 mm.
