Stop Tap Replacement

Could anyone help me, we have an internal stop tap in the kithcen that needs replacing as we have had leak from the internal soil stack and it rusted the stop tap shut. What is the going rate to get one of these replaced. I have been quoted a maximum of £150 dependant on how much needs replacing. Does this price sound right??

if you have externall stop tap to isolate the internal one, id seriously get a few more quotes.yet i dont know the going rates round your end.but if simple enough we'd halve that price.

If the streetvalve is dodgy, and part of the pipe is lead, and difficult access, it's a bargain.
Clean metric copper pipe, plenty access, and tip top streetvalve, and 50 quid should do it.

Depending on certain other things, £40 to £60 sounds about right. What part of Manchester??

Hmmm....i'm with bengas on this. If the stack has leaked then it is run up the stack line....boxed in and awkward.......but....it's possible if you can isolate outside to remove the tap body and replace that (if it's a 1010...not imperial)....dead easy but i used to do emegency plumbing....the rate were high for a reason.....it was never easy!
