storage water

my toilet cistern, bath and basin cold taps run off the cold storage tank in the loft, i am not gettig any water through these taps,but the hot taps and the kitchen taps are all fine, does anyone have any suggestions how to fix this problem ???

It sounds like you have a blockage in the ball valve in the CWS tank,

or a dead bird in the tank blocking the cold tap outlet (hot taps are working)

or an airlock on the cold supply, if hot and cold are fed from the loft, hot might be from a combi if so check loft tank possibly empty, or try putting a hose between hot and cold taps open both and try to hold hose on to allow hot to go up cold pipe, after a minute or so, remove hose and close hot tap, hot water will run back out of cold tap hopefully followed by air then cold water, might need to trry it a couple of times

will try what yu said and see how i go, how do i clean the ballvalve is that a case of clearing any dirt in the orifice ???>

start by having a look in the loft tank. see if it is full or empty, and if you can see anthing dead at the bottom.

if it is empty, jiggle the ball valve, measure it, and go and buy a new one. it is cheap and quicker than mending the old one

later, you can strip, clean and repair the old one at your leisure as a spare if you want.
