stripping

hi all im new here. can anyone give me tips on stripping paint off wood im doing my staircase, its taking for ever i need every last bit off cos im varnishing it with clear varnish, im using heatb gun nitr mors and wire wool any ideas too speed it the process as its taking for ever and very boring, please help a damsel in destress,

I don't think there is an easy way.I use any top brand paint stripper with '00' steel wool and patient !
