Can a single impeller pump be used to boost just the Hot water to a thermostatic shower mixer valve with the cold fed from cold water storage in the Loft. Wont there be a pressure difference at the valve ?
Sorry I should have explained better. I have a negative single impeller pump feeding a Hot water tap in the loft extension. My thermostatic mixer pressure is only about 0.80m. I thought perhaps a 22mm Tee off after the pump might boost my supply pressure.
Could I possibly tap off the cold mains and fit a Pressure reducing valve to equal my hot outlet pressure from the pump.
If you need both a hot and cold supply, then I personally would buy a twin impeller pump. You may have issues with pressure differential, even if you valve it down, if you tee off of the mains. You could by a Pressure Reducing Valve (PRV), but, seeing as they are quite pricey, you would be better off trying to get hold of a twin impeller neative head pump IMO
