Stupid question on power and SCB/SAB

Hi all,

Great forum and I picked up many bits of info to help doing my first installation including the idea of spring stretching! I've just replaced an old wired system with a Accenta Mini G4 including the PIRs, RKP's and SCB/SAB. Everything appears to work (after a spring stetch on one RKP)!!! (y)

My only disappointment is the alternating red/green LEDS inside the SCB/SAB case are too dim to be an external deterrent.

My question :
With the panel battery disconnected and AC power removed, should the bell go into SAB mode and sound? I guess this is to protect again someone cutting the wires?

I am assuming the answer is yes in which case I'm a happy bunny and am gonna pat myself on the back :ROFLMAO:

(...and yes I will replace the panel battery regularly! ;))

Extra question : we're at home all the time currently but when this lockdown eases I'm thinking of adding a dialer with a GSM SIM.

Is there anything I should get instead of this?

no power to bell, bell rings if battery in bell switched on.

cheaper units available that would fit inside your panel, is it a dialler or is it just text message?

"no power to bell, bell rings if battery in bell switched on." Thanks for confirming. All done right then :D

I'm just looking at any options for remote notification. There seems to be fairly limited choice when it comes to GSM. SMS message would be fine but if there's a GSM voice dialler at sensible cost then I'd be interested.

Since the system is limited to just simple alerts then I probably wouldn't spend much more than £100.

Thank you for the options. For our purpose I think it will be SMS only i.e. the internal mount one from eBay or the Advent one. Cheers.

[edit] Ebay has another for £3 more with additions of basic dialer (no actual message), twin triggers and antennae. That'll do :)
