I've posted in this forum previously about some sub floor joists showing signs of rot and a generally wet environment in the sub floor of my house.
There's been some really heavy rain recently and the standing water under the house has been 2 inches deep at times (in a 10 inch void).
I've had a lot more air bricks put in, hoping it would solve the sub floor condensation, but it hasn't now it's colder.
Winter's now coming and condensation has formed on some of the joists, so I really want to sort this out now.
I'm just looking for advice on the type of specialist I should call in to sort this out? I've read against calling in a damp proofing company because they'll just want to protect against damp and not fix the source.
As far as I can tell, source could be any of the following:
- Outside ground level being higher than bottom of sub floor
- High water table
- Drainage issue - failed soakaway?
Any advice really welcomed! Thanks
