The gasket beneath the bath taps block has been rotting, quite possibly owing to Dettox fungus remover having been used. Wish to replace this gasket. Would it be possible/effective to remove the taps block and the gasket and then smear silicone bath sealant on the underside of the block such that it spreads and forms a seal when seated back on the bath? Silicone bath sealant should resist Dettox.
