I have a bath mixer tap. They have always been strange as the hot and cold turn off and on in different directions and people always seem to get it wrong when using them. This has meant that people have turned the taps the wrong way when they were on, and used too much force as the flow did not stop.
Now, when I turn the tap off, I can keep turning and it comes back on again. To stop the tap, I have to turn them all the way off, then back on a bit. At first it was just the hot, now it is both hot and cold.
Why did this happen? Can I fix it easily? Is this tap design common or did I do something wrong when I installed them initially?
