Hello everyone

Upon discovering an open connection on a ring circuit (eg phase), is there a quick way to test the circuit to find the offending leg? I know you could take off socket covers and test between them using wander lead method, or you can take the one phase leg out of the board and go around all the sockets with your tester on volts until you find the dodgy socket etc but is there an easier way? Just curios. Thanks.

Low value resistance test.
Disconnect power to ring
Short phase to another conductor at CCU on one side of ring only
Test at each socket between phase and the other conductor.
Resistance will increase as you move away from the origin.
The highest reading will be the last before the break.

Thanks - sounds a lot quicket than the way I was taught. How did you know his name is Bob
