I am putting a new frame in an archway that is 9inches wider than the frame how do I pack this out I am putting the hinge side up tight to the wall so the 9inch gap will be on the closing side HELP

If there is no paper mache to hand, then try timber studwork , blocks or bricks

Yep, a bit of timber stud work, should fill 9" out nicely.

Im sorry to be a bit daft but do you mean by stud work to make an other frame 9inches wide or should I use 2 pieces of 4and a half timber and rawbolt them to the wall

You won't get 4 1/2 timber easily, and even so it will be the "wrong way around" to make 9"

You make a frame of timber and then plasterboard over it
