I am trying to take a single phase supply for an 80amp CU from a three phase supply, and am a little confused by what I find.
The three phase lines are straightforward, but the negative tail from the service fusebox to the meter terminates in a large metal block in the fusebox, to which not only is the negative supply connected, but also the earths from the connected devices.
I presume that this work was installed by a professional, but can see nowhere that this earth actualy leads to earth, and why oh why are the earths connected to the neutral within the REB fusebox? If I were to take a single phase supply from this, surely to connect both neutral and earth to the same block is wrong, wrong, wrong - or so it seems to me.
Please help. I shaln't act in any way until this is resolved. Many thanks
Lucas
