tiling onto thistle undercoat plaster

Hi, Can I put wall tiles straight onto thistle undercoat plaster in my kitchen,also do I need to coat the plaster with pva prior to wall tiling,I have seen other posts regarding pva and am now totally confused.

have you scratched the surface to key the adhesive? there will be a lot of suction on the backing so pva to kill the suction but also scratch the surface to provide a key.
