I have about 5 or 6 chargers (phone, nintendo, camera etc...) plugged into a extension that is usually left on 24/7 wasting electricity as all thetransformers stay warm even if nothing is plugged in.

Does anyone have a solution for this.

I was thinking along the lines of a time lag switch inserted into the extension flex. One would press the button and it would 'power on' for a set period of time e.g. 6 hours.

Problem is - no one makes such a product that I can find. Any ideas?

Get an immersion boost timer if you want - one press for 30 mins, twice for an hour, three times for two hours.

Switch fused spur feeding this timer, then feeding your sockets.

I will goggle.

I did find that.... but only two hours )-:

I will search for more!

Would if be OK have felx coming from that with a plug on the end and plug it into a socket. Then cut the end off an extension lead and wire that into the back of it.

Obviously this would be done in a surface mount box attached to my desk.
