Hi guys I have fitted an external lamp which has a 240volt - 40watt bulb and I will be connecting a dusk till dawn sensor in line can I use a 3amp digital timer in this circuit or will the load be to much for it. I was looking at this one on screwfix,

I do not need this on all night long that is why I want to use a timer and there is not room in the fitting for an energy saving bulb, it is merely a light with the house number on it facing the path so people can find the house in the dark
