I currently have the outside brickwork at the back of the house painted in masonry paint. It was done before i moved in and is looking a little tired now. Overall the condition is quite good, just a few areas of flaking paint. I would like to give it a bit of a makeover and would like to know whether it would be feasible to render over the masonry paint already there or would this be a bad idea? Alternatively would I be better off repainting it with some textured masonry paint. I would prefer to render it but if it means removing all the old paint first then I think I would probably go with a repaint. Any advice gratefully received.
