Hi, I'm in the process of buying a house. One of the previous owner's has ran off with the toilet seat. Usually this would be simple and cheap to replace, but the holes to fix it on to the unit are closer to the middle.

All the seats i've googled have the holes near the edges, anyone know where a toilet seat which would fit? or would i have to replace the whole toilet?

Many seat fixings are adjustable. The hinges are offset on round plates that fix to the pan. These can be swivelled round till they point the right way, and there is a choice of positions for the fixing bolts in the plates.

Depending on the design, you may also be able to dismantle and reassemble the hinges with the mountings either on the 'outside' or 'inside'
