I only have one key for my car, so I just rang Toyota to get a quote for a duplicate key. The service chap said that I needed to get a blank key from toyota and get it cut and programmed because i don't have the metal fob which is supplied when you originally buy the car. Apparently this is more expensive to do this, and he quoted me £181. I've seen these blank keys on ebay for £10-£30 but he said these aren't very reliable and may not work, which I can understand.

Has anyone ever tried these keys? or will i have to go through Toyota and bite the bullet, and pay £181.

Many Thanks Marc
