Traps without plastic ring

Hey do all waste traps have the black rubber cone shaped washer and the flat plastic washer that sits behind this. I have a trap that just has the black rubber cone shaped washer. Are some traps like this?

Makes do vary but the type with the ring is best....it gives more compression to the rubber olive without distorting it.

No. I normally replace them as they tend to leak. The worst ones though are those that come with Franke sinks.
