I have now bought a crabtree double pole switch with neon and the connections are as follows:-
L1
L2
L3
L4
Earth.

So can you tell me what wires from my exsisting switch L in (2 brown wires), N in ( 2 blue wires), Load N (2 blue wires), Load L ( 2 brown wires) and earth go where? Sorry to be a pain.

Not sure where the numbers are but -

the wires TO the light and fan will go in the terminals either side of the neon (it doesn't matter which way round) and

the supply wires will go in the corresponding terminals on the other end and

all the earths in earth, of course.

You sure you haven't bought an intermediate switch?

It's not an intermediate switch, for some dopey reason Crabtree don't put L and N markings on their 16 amp double pole pull cords.

Do as ELFI says, put the load lives in one terminal connected to the neon, the load neutrals the other side of the neon.

Then the feed lives directly opposite the load lives.
The feed neutrals directly opposite the load neutrals.
