Hello all,

I have a customer who has a triton power shower that's been in a working fine for a number of years.

Problem is temperature dial is at max (hot) but the water is only Luke warm, hot water from the taps is fine.

She has asked me to replace it, but being a decent kinda guy, I said it may be a blockage on the hot supply, as the shower head was pretty much blocked ( I tested it with the head off)

Is there anyone who knows these models and common problems? So I can try and save her some money?

Trouble is also, I don't want to waste my time that I cant necessary charge her for.

Thanks in advance.

As its a Triton, my standard reply would be to change it for a better make!

I assume you have measured the flow rate to see if its what it can heat?

Some of those showers have two elements in parallel and one may have failed.

Agile it's a power shower. ;)

So what does it do then?

thought you were a plumber?

takes gravity hot and cold direct to unit and the inbuilt pump, pumps and mixes it to create a power shower.

::edit:: funny enough the customer told me over the phone it was an electric shower, took me 5 secs to work out it wasnt...and i wouldnt call myself a plumber..!

I don't think that model had a number. Its quite a few years out of date.
I think it was just called Triton Manual Power Shower.
A predecessor to the AS2000X.

Would u advise to clean the filters first, rather than just change the unit?

As a replacement triton is £219.

I personally would not make a recommendation, being a lowly counterboy - according to some. I leave recommendations of this sort to the more knowledgeable amongst us.
