I have two isolation valves (compression joint type) in my bathroom, for the hot and cold feeds to the wash basin.
A light turquoise substance is gradually forming on both valves, around where the nut meets the screw. Is this some kind of harmless mould that can be safely scraped off every so often, or are the compression joints in danger of corroding away?
