We lost our Sky signal yesterday and have to wait a week for the engineer to come round! We thought we could just plug the aerial cable into our TV and watch terrestrial in the meantime, but it won't fit! There is a funny screw like fixture on it that the engineer put on when he set up Sky and we don't know how to get it off! Help lease!

You cant pick up normal TV signals on a sky dish. Thats why it has a funny connector - that, and the sky box sends 18 volts up that cable to the LNB to allow it to work!

You need to plug the AERIAL cable into the TV, not the SKY cable.

buy yourself a cheap indoor aeria at Argos or somewhere, if your old TV aerial has been taken down. it won't be very good but will be better than nothing.

If you old TV aerial is stil in place, perhaps you can use a coax from that.

You might even be able to use a £25 freeview box which will give you quite a lot of channels

thanks, unfortunately there is no normal tv aerial cable to plug in, the only cable running into the house is the sky one! have no idea what the previous owners have done with the cable attached to the main house aerial!
