Im after a bit of help or more correctly ideas. Im sorting out my baby daughters room and i want to make a light box to go on the wall, that will have lots of holes drilled in it to make it look like stars at night. i want it to be dimmable so it can be used as a nightlight, but i would also like it to be able to go dimmer and brighter slowley on its own, when its not being used as a night light.

Hope that makes sense, is there anyway of doing it fairly simply?

Multi function christmas lights would be the best answer as breezer says, unless you have the elctronics knowledge to design a control circuit to do what you want (and questions about anything of this nature should be asked on an electronics forum, as opposed to an electrics one)

just had a thought, you could use fibre optics they do come in kits, but i hope you have deep pockets
