Our neighbour and I are looking to build a 3.9m long brick wall between the properties, attaching to our neighbours wall, half of it 1.8m high, half 1m high. The wall will be constructed from reclaimed bricks, on a substantial (300mm deep) concrete footing. The brickier says he always uses Wallstarters in this situation, but I an suspicious of fixings into aircrete.
The current wall is a brick wide (215mm) rendered, but it is separating from the house.
I'm well used to wall starters, but we've only ever used them to fix into brick or dense block walls. Is it OK to use wall starters against an aircrete wall to tie in this brick wall? If so, is it better to use resin fixings? Maybe it would be better to construct a thicker, brick and a half wall, or construct a pier against the house?
Ideas?
Thanks.
