I am in the close to start installing the drains on a self build.

I have a question as the site is sloping I have built a retaining wall for the drive, the connecection to the sewer is on the other side of the retaining wall and is about 8 feet down and 8 feet away from the wall. Heance the angle of the pipe would be about 45 degrees. Is this OK, I was going to extend that lenght of pipe up with a rodding eye on it.

I have attached a very crude drawing to try and explain

thanks

Nope you can't do that.

What you need to do is put a manhole on the retained side, with the invert set about 1:40 above the level of the one in the drive that you want to connect to. Your incoming pipe comes in at high level at 1:40 or thereabouts and "tumbles" via a vertical pipe inside the chamber with rodding access down to the lower invert.

"Back drop manhole" , par chance? :p

Don't forget the special rodding access cover!

Yes, but I assumed he would be none the wiser, if I just said that :p !
