unreliable DHW supply - ideal mini c28

I have an Ideal Mini c28, it's six years old. The DHW to the shower is unreliable, that is to say, when I'm in the shower, it will run hot and then lukewarm, then cold then back to hot. The hot water in the taps seems fine.

To be honest the shower has never been that hot, and a year after the boiler was fitted I was told that is because of the distance that the water has to travel to the bathroom (does that sound reasonable?), but now it's getting much worse.

Any ideas?

possible faulty cartridge on the shower.

Get someone to hold the hot water outlet pipe on the boiler ( no. 2 ) and see if that is constant temperature while you operate the shower.

If that varies the problem may be the boiler or too little hot water being taken to keep the boiler on.

The later would be checked by running a hot tap a bit when the shower id on.
