Unusual socket

Just moved house and found the socket shown in the attached image. 2 thin wires enter from the back? It says Phoenix on the front. Any ideas please?

Very loud door chime, more like it is an internal alarm sounder

It is a sound bomb.

That is the intention. To drive the intruders out of the room. There is also a 4 port version.

If you have an alarm system fitted and it's an audible only, turn it on and set it off, you'll hear what it's like.

Don't stand too close it'll make your eyes water.
