Apparently the cleaning agent which is put into public swimming baths ,usually chlorine, has NO smell at all. The 'smell' is activated when there is urine present in the water, and it is a chemical reaction between the two that causes the smell.

Funny that liquid chlorine in a bottle without urine smells of ..................swimming pools.

or sweat, or indeed any thing that causes chlorine to be released.

Bottle of liquid chlorine? you mean bleach? that's because liquid bleach is unstable and slowly breaks down.

Also why is the title urine infection? Urine from a healthy person is sterile.

Damn, from the title I thought I was going to get a definitive answer to why urine sometimes smells of sugar puffs, or have I got an infection?

Did I miss something, where's the R A T urine post?
Sorry, I'm not allowed to say the word R A T. It's an Edinburgh thing.
