Hi all you good honest reliable boiler men.

I have recently moved into a house and it has a vaillant ecotec 831 boiler.
I have no manual for the boiler but last week it started breaking down and displaying F75. I have worked out to press the flame button it works without a problem till the next day i run my shower. I rang vaillant and they want £215 just to look at it, Is this right? I think boilers only cost £400 as i have seen them in wickes and b and q. Why do they want so much money just to fix a boiler? Can any of you nice knowledgeable men on here assist me, is it something i can do myself to repair it? Or are any of you nice men gonna come out and fix it cheaper?

Many thanks

Cindy

This is usually a manufacturing fault that Vaillant know all about. It is the pressure sensor that has gone faulty and needs to be replaced. F75 should be a FOC call.

Occasionally it can be caused by dirty system water, but mainly a sensor fault.
