Hi,
I was hoping to get some advice on this issue before I call another installer to take look. The original installer although helpful doesn’t really seem to have much to suggest of help beyond “it’s probably air in the system”
A year ago we had a complete new h/w and heating system installed. This is an unvented system using a Vaillant Ecotec 430 plus system boiler. The house is a mid terrace house, well insulated on front/back and roof following a complete renovation project. Downstairs we have 3 UFH zones, upstairs are 5 bedrooms each with one radiator, 3 bathrooms each with one towel rail and a further two radiators in the 1st and 2nd floor hallways.
The system works fine if only using hot water.
However, if the heating is used we get daily f83 errors and the boiler shuts down. It’s hard to diagnose when this happens but it seems to me to occur whenever the thermostats have stopped calling for heat after the rooms have come up to temperature. The pump is wired back to the boiler with a permanent live so I don’t believe it is related to the pump overrun.
If the heating is left on permanently and permanently calling for heat the error doesn’t occurs and everything is fine.
I’ve tried to change the partial load setting down to 15kw from the original Auto/30kw but that hasn’t helped.
Could anybody suggest some pointers so I know what to discuss with whoever I get to look at this? Is this likely a problem with the boiler itself, the way it has been piped up, the wiring or some combination?
I appreciate this is very difficult to diagnose remotely but perhaps some of the pros have experienced this issue and could provide some guidance or simple/obvious things to check for.
I’m sure I’ve left out some key info you need so please let me know if I can provide anything else of help.
Thanks
