Vaillant Timer Switch 110 Part No 306741

Hi
How do I remove a faulty 110 Timer switch from my Vaillant boiler, a new one just pushes on when the old one comes off, according to the manual or when the boiler is new, but how do i get it off? do I force the retaining tags so that they break or go inside the Electrical box and push the retaining tags out?

slide a thin blade at the 4 points on the clock that hold it in place they then pull forward.look atbthe new clock you will see the 4 points i am on about
