My Valiant boiler VCW GB 242 EH is making a noise. The symptoms are as follows.
The boiler is about 15 years old and works great i.e. it provides both DHW and CH as you would expect it to however, when the central heating is running it runs quitly up to the point when it gets very close to reaching its set boiler temp and it then starts to sound noisy and produces air surge in the room which shakes the door of the room. If you view the boiler flame at this point the flame is pulsing to high and low flame at the same time. When the boiler temp is reached it goes off load and the noise stops. I have my thoughts but invite those in the know for further guidance.
