You should try standup. You are gifted.I expect the gas man to install the powerflush machine drink tea then swap the boilers over and do a bit of soldering before going home - Hardly difficult
Would have tried it myself if it wasnt for the whole gas safe engineer business
2 years ago actually. What would a ten year old be buying a boiler for?IN 1967
And on the flip side there’s some rough bast@rds out there with more ‘qualifications’ than you can wave a stick at who are just so complacent, they just want to get in and out making the easiest fastest money they can get their hands on .Most people realise where central heating and gas is concerned that safety and a decent job takes time , but have no control over the tossers out there who are more than willing to cut corners. Ironically they’re the ones who think the sun shines out of their a7sehole and won’t be questioned on anything.[/QUOTE]The public have absolutely no idea of the gas trade.
No other trade comes close with the sheer volume of legislation, the Gas Installer magazine regularly publish the list of documents we comply with...AFAIR it stretches to 5 A4 pages.
Some of these documents are hundreds of pages thick.
It looks so easy...you turn on the tap and get hot water, how hard can it be.
Customers want cheap cheap cheap and everything must be installed in a day regardless....that often leads to shoddy work that will become apparent later on.
Yehhaaaaa..Read it and weep Benny Boy...Get back to throwing plaster at the wall man, making sure to fill in the electrical boxes guddddd,to pizz the sparky off.they just want to get in and out making the easiest fastest money they can get their hands on
Corgi was worse still.By Far.Yep...plenty of dross in the gas trade but the assessment system and Gas-Safe are all about making money and little to do with safety.
Can be the same in all trades - an MOT authorisation as well as a City & Guilds authorisation can, by some, be seen as a licence to print money although like those who misuse gas safe registration, those people don’t seem to last long.Yep...plenty of dross in the gas trade but the assessment system and Gas-Safe are all about making money and little to do with safety.

Chloe. You come across as the patronising Smartar§e customer from hell.No wonder your installer que is a very short one.Im actually going to time the install to prove my point - I have a main boiler already so this is swap to same make - Very little pipework needed. Access is on ground floor so no ladders needed.
Why exactly. I’m sorry you feel that way. I tried my best to understand why and for what I was going to get charged for and whether it was good price performance ratioChloe. You come across as the patronising Smartar§e customer from hell.No wonder your installer que is a very short one.
