Bit of a newbie here...
I am making a big bathroom shelving unit with cheap planed pine from wickes.
All going well so far...
To give the pine a bit of character I added a white tint/stain.
I am using a mix of 25% water based white satin & 75% tapwater
I now have a nice scandinvian whitewashed pine look
Question.. Next step is to varnish the whole thing to seal it for bathroom usage (using Ronseal Water based Varnish)
How long should I leave it before varnishing?
Since I have painted/stained the wood with a very watery whitewash I worry about sealing in too much moisture...
4 hours? 12 hours? 24 hours drying? - I Really need to finish up as our Bathroom and Kitchen are unusable during the build process
(I have a powerful dehumidifier if that helps...)
