Can anyone advise where to plug in a diagnostics unit in the vivaro van. Have the service light flashing constantly - have serviced the van, oil, filters etc, just want to switch off the dash light!

To reset the engine oil life monitor:
The procedure must be completed within
10 seconds after switching on ignition.

1. Switch on the ignition, but do not start
the engine,

2. depress accelerator pedal fully and hold
in this position,

3. depress foot brake three times
consecutively,

4. release accelerator pedal,

5. turn off ignition.

are you sure its telling you your overdue for a service? is it possible the management system has detected a fault?

could be a fault, (hope not!) thats why i want to plug in a diagnostic scanner.
Anyone recommend a quality scanner, have had a look on the usual auction sites and there seem to be a wealth of them.

i have a mate who owns a garage so i never had to buy one of my own so i cant really help you on that one!

I bought an OP-Com set-up on ebay last year for about £25 and it's been invaluable. Great wee program that does loads.
