Hello all,

I (not me personally) have recently removed a back boiler and gas fire from the fire place in my living room and replaced the boiler with a combi (now in my kitchen), and a new gas fire (in my living room). There is an air vent in my living room behind the radiator, presumably it was put there for the back boiler, but my question is : Can I now safely brick up this vent as I have got rid of the back boiler. It is letting in unwanted cold air and noise from outside. Or does my new gas fire also require a vent ?

It depends on the fire.

Your friendly CORGI man should have left the instruction manual for you to keep.
Any ventilation requirements will be in it.
