Very hot pump anfd down stairs rads not very warm!

Hi Everyone

I cleaned my pump out today at was quite full of sludge and black water.
Cleaned and was running freely
Put back together as it came apart!
All downstairs rads are not very warm
Water going through the pump, but sounds like it has air in it and the pump is getting very hot!!
How do i solve this problem??

Buy a new pump

Better to isolate the problem first. Let's have some details about your system.

Pump full of sludge + All downstairs rads are not very warm
= sludge problem. Also pump is old so may be going slow. See Reference section for a post on shifting sludge.

My system is old Glow metro BBU

All was ok yesterday, i fitted a new double radiator in the living room, when i took the old of off the was black water in the rad.
Living room rad was hot, but others not as hot
So decided to clean pump out. When i opened pump there was black water but not much thick sludge.
One of the downstairs rads is ok
Upstairs rads ok and hot
