In November we had a brand new boiler installed. They put in a new pump and replaced all the electrics and changed alot of the pipe work as it wasn't needed. The system is an open vented. We have noticed on occasion a very loud noise coming from the loft. It sounds like a lorry driving by your house, a low rumbling. The pipes where the pump is rattle and then change from being extremely hot to cold in a matter of seconds. We think that water is moving down the pipe. We have had the company who installed the sysyem back to have alook at it but they can't find anything wrong with it as we can't get it to make the noise again. It seems to mose commonly do it when it's come on first thing in the morning for a couple of hours, then goes off. Once the heating/water have gone of it's about twenty minutes before this noise occurs.
Any ideas?
