Hi All,

I'm trying to replace a very old 2 way single light switch at the top of my stairs with a nice new white one.

The problem is the current switch is not fully marked as to which connecter is which like the new one is, so i don't know what goes where.

There are 3 wires inside the switch 'Com' IS marked but L1 & L2 are NOT. How can i tell which is which or do i even need to in this situation.

Hope you can help as i can't wait to replace it.... It's scummy and i hate touching it...

Thanks Guys.

It doesn't really matter which way around L1 and L2 are...
If you want the light to be off with both switches in the same position and when you wire it up it isn't, swop the wires in L1 and L2 over.

So long as you note which is the common, then the other two are not critical. Works either way.

Turn the supply off before you start!
