He's had guidance from uncle Vladimir; control the press, tell the people what they want, and that they largely already have it.
Viktor Orban's support for Putin is unfortunate. Partly good intentioned - securing cheaper oil and gas for the Hungarian people, but unsustainable in view of recent events. In other areas there's a lot to like about Orban. He's anti immigrant and strongly resists calls from The EU to accept those from countries/regions whose culture and religous beliefs are at odds with those of the Hungarian people. He can see the dangers inflicted on this country and others suffering alien violence and terrorism, eg. France and Germany. If only our politicians sought to protect us from these dangers, but they are traitors.
Also Orban sees the value of being part of The Visegrad 4 group of countries who seek to protect their culture and identitity as well as the security of their countries. Orban is popular for a reason- he has done a lot of good and has popular policies. The left automatically despise him.

Orbans immediate criticism of Zelenskyy following the win, referring to him as an opponent, tells me that Orban was waiting to see how the vote reflected in the Invasion of Ukraine. His landslide win emboldened him to directly criticise Zelenskyy and position him closer to Putin and Russia.

If you had bothered to look into the guy's history/profile, you would have noted that the bloke id no fool and knows how to play countires in order to move Poland forward. This is why he puts his people first.
He is right to criticise the Ukraine leader on the points he did but he is no friend of Putin, hence does not mind nukes from usa in Poland.
