Hi All.

Just joined so hoping someone will be able to advise.

I've bought a 1932 bungalow and have discovered that the kitchen has vinyl flooring stuck over vinyl tiles which are, in turn, stuck on top of what looks like original red ceramic tiles (which I'd like to keep if poss).

I've managed to get some of the top layer off but it's time consuming as the vinyl is very old and thus extremely brittle, so I've taken to using a heat gun to try to soften it up.

Now, my question is: once I've done all this, how would I remove the vinyl tiles without damaging the original ceramics underneath?

I can, if anyone wishes, post a picture to give you a better idea of what I'm dealing with.

Would appreciate any advice.

Thanks,

Ron

cartoonist, can you post pics? In the mean time perhaps be cautious about using heat.

OK, I'll post some soon. I'm in India at the moment working so will post them when I get back at the weekend.

Thanks for the trip about the heat. I won't do that until I know what's what.

Cheers.
