Hi all,

I was at the above boiler tonight(intermitting fault)

Boiler would work fine then come up 01,when boiler did fail to ignite there was no attempt of a spark,pump and fan both coming on and air pressure switch working correctly.I was leaving the hot tap running and switching boiler off at control knob,more often than not it would light but occasionally would lock out (01)

I'm thinking along the lines of ignition board(sticking relay) as I think it's too erratic to be gas valve

The early lineas suffered from lazy/slow acting APS, confuses pcb, signal not recieved quick enough.

yeah cheers mate,I did in fact check the operation of the APS,I was quite happy with it's operation,It was switching over long before lock out

Heatingman, 01 is ignition lockout i.e. ignition has not been successful within 10 seconds.

Lazy APS/ non operation of APS would throw up 03 not 01. That is my understanding. I could be wrong.

This kind of enquiry would be better in the Combustion Chamber where we can give technical advice without fear of encouraging any DIYers to do inappropriate work for which they are not qualified.
