Hi, help to go from old ceiling rose to new light fitting. Have not got any testers, where do the wires go in the new box?. Many thanks.

If you follow ALL of the instructions on how to upload photos and put them in posts they will show up.

If you don't complete all of the steps they won't.

I can see your pictures.

Notice on the old ceiling rose the red wire nearest the centre is separate to the other three red wires.

The red wire on it's own goes to the L terminal.

The blacks go to the N terminal.

The remaining group of reds go to the empty unmarked terminal.

The green and yellow earth wires go to the earth terminal which is marked with the earth symbol.

Make a very careful note of how each cable is connected at the moment in case there is a mix up. If you study the wiring carefully, you will realise you are simply copying it.

Found them in images! Have identified live. So does that mean 4 reds to isolate ? 3 black into one and 3 earth into one.? Thanks

Sparkwright just saw your reply, thanks, was what we were thinking! Will try later and come back if still having problems, cheers!

Your pics are here, you need to copy the bbcode into your post which is below the photo in your album:

The red which is on it's own as talked about before (lowest red one in the pic) goes to the L terminal on your new fitting.
The other four reds to the terminal without anything else connected to it.
The three blacks to neutral terminal.
All the earths to the earth terminal. (edit - Can't see if there's three or four, at a guess there should be four)

I would advise you to have some sort of tester to make sure the power is off before you start work.

As said above. Hard to count how many wires they are. But keep that red on it's own separate!
