Washing machine drain height

I’m installing a washing machine in my basement. I would like to connect the drain directly to my house’s drain pipe which is roughly 60 inches above ground. Is this to high for a washing machine’s to pump into? I believe the recommended height for a drain is 40 inches. Will I need to install a separate pump?
